Microsoft 365 Management & Cloud Services
Microsoft 365, Run Properly
We administer your Microsoft 365 tenant and keep a security baseline in place across it, for one fixed monthly charge per organisation rather than per user.
What is Microsoft 365 Management & Cloud Services?
Microsoft 365 holds your email, files, calendars, Teams chats and user accounts. Your tenant is your organisation's Microsoft 365 account: the place where users, settings and security policies live. Microsoft provides the service and the licences, but someone still needs to administer the tenant and keep it secure.
Our Microsoft 365 Management & Security Baseline is that service. We look after users, groups, mailboxes and settings day to day, apply a tenant-wide security baseline (multi-factor authentication, conditional access, anti-phishing and secure sharing policies) and review your configuration against it regularly.
It's charged once per organisation at £125 per month, not per user. It's added automatically to every support plan and can also be taken on its own. Microsoft 365 licences aren't included and are billed separately.
Key benefits
- One monthly charge per organisation, not per user
- Users, mailboxes and groups administered for you
- Multi-factor authentication and conditional access applied across the tenant
- Anti-phishing and secure sharing policies in place
- Configuration reviewed regularly against the baseline
How does it work?
We take on administration of your existing tenant, bring it up to our security baseline, then manage it alongside any other Pulsar IT services you use.
Review the tenant
We review your users, admin accounts, licences, mailboxes, sharing settings and current security configuration, and agree any changes with you before making them.
Apply the baseline
We enforce multi-factor authentication, set conditional access policies, configure anti-phishing and secure sharing, and protect admin accounts, planning each change so staff aren't locked out.
Administer day to day
We handle starters and leavers, mailbox and group changes, permissions and settings as requests come in.
Review regularly
We check your configuration against the baseline and raise anything that has drifted, or any new setting that's worth adopting.

Where it helps
A new starter on Monday
Their account, mailbox, group memberships and licence are set up in advance, so they can sign in securely on day one.
Someone leaves
Sign-in is blocked, access to their mailbox and files is handed over as you instruct and their licence is freed for reuse.
Files shared too widely
Sharing settings limit links that work for anyone, so client documents aren't accidentally available to people outside the business.
Shared mailboxes
Mailboxes such as accounts@ or info@ are set up so the right people can use them without sharing a password.
Your Microsoft 365 cloud services
Alongside tenant administration and security, we help you get the most from the cloud services already included in your Microsoft 365 subscription.
Email and Exchange Online
Mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists and email settings managed properly.
Teams
Teams and channels set up so conversations and files are easy to find, with access for people outside the business controlled by policy.
SharePoint and OneDrive
File storage and sharing set up to work well and stay secure, with settings that reduce accidental oversharing.
Licensing advice
Advice on which Microsoft 365 licences suit each person. The licences themselves are billed separately.
Need more depth on a specific area? Microsoft 365 Security explains the security controls in detail, a Microsoft 365 Security Assessment gives you a one-off review and report, and Microsoft 365 Backup keeps an independent copy of your data.
Problems solved
Nobody really owns Microsoft 365
Settings were chosen when the tenant was created and rarely revisited. We take responsibility for administering it and keeping it current.
Passwords alone protect your accounts
A stolen or guessed password is one of the most common ways into a business. Multi-factor authentication means a password alone isn't enough to sign in.
Old accounts still active
Accounts belonging to people who left months ago can still sign in. A proper leaver process closes them down.
Files shared with anyone who has the link
Open sharing links can spread well beyond the people they were meant for. Secure sharing settings reduce the risk.
Licences that don't match people
Licences stay assigned to leavers or don't fit how people work. Regular administration keeps them aligned with your team.

Add to Your QuoteFrequently asked questions
Are Microsoft 365 licences included?
No. This service covers administration and security configuration of your tenant. Microsoft 365 licences and subscriptions are billed separately, and we can advise which licences suit each person.
Why is it charged per organisation rather than per user?
Most of the work, such as the security baseline and configuration reviews, applies to the whole tenant rather than to each person, so it's a single monthly charge for your organisation instead of a per-user fee.
Can we have this without a support plan?
Yes. It's added automatically to every support plan, but it's also available on its own, for example if your in-house team handles staff support and you want Microsoft 365 administration and security looked after.
How is this different from the Microsoft 365 Security page?
Microsoft 365 Security explains the security controls in detail, and those controls are included in this baseline. This page covers the wider service: day-to-day administration plus the baseline. A Microsoft 365 Security Assessment is a separate one-off review.
Does this back up our Microsoft 365 data?
No. Microsoft keeps the service running, but an independent backup protects you against accidental deletion, ransomware or a compromised account. That's available separately as Microsoft 365 Backup.
Can you take over from our current provider?
Usually, yes. We'll need administrative access handed over, then we review the tenant before changing anything, so the switch doesn't disrupt your staff.
