Managed IT Support
IT That Works, With Security Built In
Pulsar IT looks after your staff, devices and Microsoft 365 for a clear monthly price per device, with monitoring, patching and security built into every plan.
What is Managed IT Support?
Managed IT support means handing the day-to-day running of your IT to a team who look after it for a fixed monthly fee. Instead of calling someone only when something breaks, your staff have a helpdesk to contact, and your workstations and laptops are monitored, updated and secured in the background.
We offer two full support plans. Essential IT Support is a complete outsourced IT service: helpdesk support for all staff, proactive monitoring and alerting, operating system and application patching, and a consistent security baseline on every device. Advanced IT & Security adds endpoint protection, basic endpoint vulnerability scanning and advanced security configuration.
Both plans are priced per workstation or laptop, and both include our Microsoft 365 management and security baseline, charged once for your organisation rather than per user. If you already employ IT staff, Co-Managed IT Support may suit you better. Full plan details are on our pricing page.
Key benefits
- One helpdesk for your staff's everyday IT problems
- Every workstation and laptop monitored and patched on a managed schedule
- A consistent security baseline on every managed device
- Published per-device prices, so monthly costs are predictable
- New starters set up properly and leavers' access removed
How does it work?
We start by understanding your devices, users and systems, bring each workstation and laptop under management, then support your team day to day. Monitoring and patching run in the background, and your staff contact our helpdesk when they need help.
Review and onboard
We review your devices, Microsoft 365 tenant, servers and network, record what we find and agree the plan with you. A monitoring and management agent is then installed on each workstation and laptop.
Bring devices up to standard
We apply our device security baseline and bring operating systems and applications up to date. On the Advanced plan, endpoint protection and vulnerability scanning are deployed at the same time.
Support and maintain
Your staff raise issues with our helpdesk. We handle fixes, starters and leavers, routine patching and the alerts raised by monitoring, in line with your agreed service level.
Advise and plan
We give practical guidance on upgrades, purchases and security improvements, so changes to your IT are planned rather than rushed.

Where it helps
When the office manager is the IT department
IT jobs often fall to whoever is most willing. With a helpdesk in place, staff report problems to us and the person who used to fix them gets their time back.
New starters
A new employee needs an account, a mailbox, the right access and a laptop that's ready to use. We set these up as a routine request rather than a scramble on their first morning.
Laptops that miss updates
Laptops that are rarely in the office often fall behind on updates. Managed patching applies them when the device is online, wherever it is.
Customer security questions
Clients and insurers increasingly ask how your devices are protected. A consistent baseline, and endpoint protection on the Advanced plan, gives you clearer answers.
Essential or Advanced: which plan?
Both plans are priced per workstation or laptop per month. Servers, firewalls and other services are priced separately, so you pay for what you actually have.
Essential IT Support
£25 per device per month. Core IT support, device and network monitoring, patching and IT guidance, plus helpdesk support for all staff, a device security baseline and proactive monitoring and alerting. Endpoint protection and vulnerability scanning can be added separately.
Advanced IT & Security
£35 per device per month. Everything in Essential, plus endpoint protection on every device, basic endpoint vulnerability scanning and advanced security configuration. Managed Endpoint Security and managed firewalls remain optional extras.
Microsoft 365 baseline
Added once with either plan at £125 per organisation per month. It covers administration and security configuration of your Microsoft 365 tenant. Microsoft 365 licences are billed separately.
All prices exclude VAT and are provisional until confirmed in your proposal after a short scoping review of your setup.
Problems solved
Nobody owns IT
Without a named team responsible, small problems sit unresolved and bigger ones arrive without warning. A managed service makes IT someone's job.
Updates are missed
Unpatched operating systems and applications are a common way in for attackers. Managed patching keeps devices current without relying on staff to click 'update'.
Staff lose time to small problems
Password resets, printer faults and software errors eat into the working day. A helpdesk gives staff one place to get them sorted.
Every device set up differently
Laptops bought at different times often have different settings and protection. A device security baseline brings them into line.
Leavers keep access
Accounts left active after someone leaves are a real risk. A defined leaver process removes access properly.
Unpredictable IT bills
Paying by the hour makes costs hard to plan. A per-device monthly price turns IT into a predictable cost.

Add to Your QuoteFrequently asked questions
What's the difference between Essential and Advanced?
Essential gives your staff a helpdesk and keeps every device monitored, patched and set to our security baseline. Advanced adds endpoint protection, basic endpoint vulnerability scanning and advanced security configuration on every workstation and laptop. You can also add endpoint protection to Essential separately.
Why do you charge per device rather than per user?
You pay for each workstation or laptop we support, which keeps the price tied to the equipment we actually look after. Servers and firewalls need different work, so they're priced separately, and the Microsoft 365 baseline is a single charge for your organisation.
Do you come to our office?
Support is delivered remotely as standard. If you'd like an engineer on site on a regular basis, you can add Scheduled Onsite IT Support. Other visits are agreed with you as needed.
We already have an IT person. Is this the right plan?
If your IT person handles day-to-day requests and wants monitoring, patching and somewhere to escalate, Co-Managed IT Support is designed for that. Essential and Advanced suit businesses that want us to support all staff directly.
